Mardi himal treks

Our treks are focused on top picks and off-the-beaten-track experiences as well as exclusive offerings in the quieter parts of the Himalayan- Nepal. They are an ideal choice for those of us who are looking for that “little something special” added to your experience.

Our Treks:

Mardi Himal Trek which is the lowest and perhaps the least visited of the trekking peaks in Nepal.

We have two exclusive Mardi Himal Treks to choose from. Our Mardi Himal 6 Day itinerary is designed for those who are already in Nepal traveling or for those who just want the raw package leaving from Pokhara instead of Kathmandu. In addition, one might consider our Mardi Himal 10 day trek full-service package more appropriate. It is designed for those who want full service upon landing in Nepal- Kathmandu to Pokhara back to Kathmandu.

Finally, we have 10 EPIC TREKS IN THE HIMALAYAS which you can choose from. If your looking for other options will tailor-make a journey focused on your interests. I will CUSTOMIZE My Trip!

What makes our Mardi Himal Trek different?

We have an option that offers expeditions up to the Mardi Himal Base Camp with an exclusive client to guide ratio of 1:4, and a client to porter ratio of 2:3. Meaning true expedition conditions by incorporating basecamps, staying overnight in tents, allowing one to spend more time in contact with both nature and the local people. The last night is dashed with a little luxury of hot showers and a feast in the tea house before departing back to Phokara. Nestled near the Annapurna’s sacrosanct Machhapuchhre, the newly opened Mardi Himal Base Camp route offers the discerning traveler a true alpine expedition without the burden of crowds or the disabling effects of high altitude (max: 3,580m/11,745ft). While other operators employ tea houses and a client to porter ratio of 2:1 making for a more standard experience.

Where is Mardi Himal?

Mardi Himal is located to the east of the Annapurna Base camp virtually under the spectacular Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). As you trek along the ridge it’s nearly possible, but imaginable, to look down at Annapurna Base camp itself. Trekking along Mardi Himal the trek goes through a quiet stone built villages past wonderful rhododendron forests blooming in many different colors. The forest path continues until about 3,300 m when the trail takes on a rugged mountain setting with spectacular views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South. There’s a low camp with probably the best views of Machhapuchhre anywhere in Nepal along with accommodation for those all-important sunrise and sunset views. Above this at 3580 m is a high camp which again offers spectacular views overlooking Annapurna Base camp. Further along, you can then reach Mardi Himal Base camp itself with views overlooking all of the Annapurna range.

Mardi Himal Trek Best Time to Travel

Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for the Mardi Himal Trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature then taking this trip during winter (Dec., Jan. and Feb.) could also be an option. However, the temperature during winter could be harsh for most guests. Trekking in the Summer or Monsoon seasons (June to Aug.) will be affected by rain but the Summer trek could be a boon for a keen botanist.
Mardi Himal Trek This is an easy trek suitable for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk for around 4-5 hours a day with a light day-pack. Exercising regularly for a few weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform us before booking the trek. We also recommend that you consult your doctor(s) before the trip.
Any cancellation due to weather will be rescheduled in the next day/s. We do not refund when we reschedule. If you cancel a trip we will not remit your 15% deposit if notice given is less than 30 days before your trip is scheduled to leave. We only issue a refund if we cancel the trip. We will not refund any amount if you cancel 3 days before your scheduled departure or during the trip itself.
